Effective Date: April 29, 2026
Dial Engineering, a California corporation, ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website https://dial.digital ("Site"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect the personal information you provide to us through the Site.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of personal information when you use our Site:
- Contact Information: Full name, email address, phone number, and user-submitted messages via our contact form.
- User Account Information: If you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication details (including via Google Sign-In).
- Uploaded Files: Files uploaded by users that are generated on the Site. These may include vehicle information such as VINs. However, we do not retain or store uploaded files on our servers — they are processed in your browser and any ongoing copy remains on your device unless you explicitly share data with us. See Section 4 for how we use browser storage for some features.
- Payment Information: We use Stripe to process payments. We do not collect or store your credit card or billing information.
- Device and Usage Data: We may collect limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, and access times. This information may be logged automatically by our hosting provider (Vercel) for security and operational purposes. We also use a third-party observability service (Axiom) to collect website performance metrics (for example Core Web Vitals) and application and server logs to operate, secure, and improve the Site. Such data is used for reliability and diagnostics, not for advertising or behavioral profiling.
- Sensitive Information: We do NOT collect sensitive personal information, such as social security numbers, racial or ethnic data or biometric information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To respond to inquiries submitted via the contact form.
- To enable and manage your user account, including login via Google.
- To provide services and process payments via third-party providers (e.g., Stripe).
- To ensure the security and proper operation of our Site.
- To monitor performance, diagnose errors, and maintain service reliability using our observability tools.
3. Data Sharing
We may share your data with trusted third-party service providers to help operate the Site:
- Clerk for user authentication and account management.
- Stripe for secure payment processing.
- Resend for transactional email delivery.
- Vercel for web hosting and server-side infrastructure.
- Axiom for application logging, error reporting, and website performance monitoring (including browser-reported performance metrics).
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We do not use cookies, scripts, or similar technologies for cross-site advertising, sale of personal data, or behavioral profiling across unrelated websites. We may use essential cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the Site, including:
- Authentication and account management (via Clerk), which may set first-party and service-provider cookies
- Payment processing (via Stripe), which may set cookies when you use checkout or billing features
- First-party cookies for basic interface preferences (for example layout state)
- Security and abuse prevention, including data processed by our hosting and observability providers as described in this policy
Browser storage (local storage): Some features store information only on your device using browser mechanisms such as local storage—for example drafts, customizations, or preferences within a tool. That data is not uploaded to our servers. Clearing your browser data or using another device will remove or isolate that information from our reach because we do not retain a server-side copy of it.
Performance and operational monitoring: We use Axiom to receive performance signals from the browser (such as Core Web Vitals) and server-side logs for operating and improving the Site. This is infrastructure observability, not marketing analytics; it may involve sending technical data from your browser or our servers to Axiom as described in Sections 1 and 3.
If we implement additional tracking technologies for purposes beyond those described here, we will update this policy accordingly and request your consent where required by law.
5. Data Storage and Retention
- Uploaded Files: We do not retain uploaded files on our servers. All such uploads are processed in the browser and stored locally by the user unless explicitly submitted to us.
- Browser-only data: Information held only in your browser (such as local storage for drafts or preferences) is retained until you clear site data, remove it within the Site where applicable, or uninstall the browser. We do not control or retain that data on our systems.
- Contact Form Data: Contact form submissions are retained in our business email system and manually reviewed. We retain this data for up to 3 years for customer service purposes.
- Account Information: Your account information is retained as long as your account is active. After account deletion, we may retain certain information for up to 7 years for legal and regulatory compliance.
- Payment Records: Transaction records are retained for 7 years as required by applicable tax and financial regulations.
- Marketing Communications: If you opt into marketing emails, we retain your email address until you unsubscribe.
6. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information using industry-standard security practices and tools. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain privacy rights, including:
- The right to access, correct, or delete your personal data.
- The right to object to certain uses of your data.
- The right to withdraw consent where applicable.
To exercise your rights, please contact us at support@dial.digital.
We will verify your request and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will notify you of the extension and explain why it is necessary.
8. International Users and Data Transfers
While this Site is primarily intended for U.S. users, visitors from outside the U.S. should be aware that your data may be processed and stored in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

As a result, personal data from international users (including residents of the EU, UK, or Switzerland) may be processed and stored in the U.S. where privacy laws may differ. Vercel adheres to certified data protection frameworks such as the EU‑U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the UK Extension, providing safeguards for international data transfers.

Our Site is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will delete such information.

13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "Effective Date." We will notify users of significant changes via email or prominent notice on our Site.
